Colombian Tamales

Preparing the Rest of the Ingredients

Carrots

  • Peel the carrots.
  • Slice the carrots about 1/2 inches. Cut at least 2 slices per tamale.
  • Place the carrots into a pot with cold water.
  • Cover the pot and bring it to a boil, lower the heat and simmer until they are cooked.
  • Drain and set aside.

Potatoes

  • Peel the potatoes.
  • Cut the potatoes about 1 1/2 inches thick.
  • Place the potatoes into a pot with cold water.
  • Cover the pot and bring it to a boil, lower the heat and simmer until they are cooked.
  • Drain and reserve the potatoes.

Eggs

  • Place the eggs into a pot and cover them with cold water by 1 inch.
  • Cover the pot and bring it to a boil, lower the heat and cook about 10 minutes.
  • Drain, peel and slice each egg in 4 pieces.
